Property lawyers are also consulted by their clients before the client makes a sale or a purchase. If the client is about to make a purchase on a certain house, the property lawyer will get in touch with the realtors to make sure that all the deeds to the land and the house and in proper order. Also, he will be present when the client signs the sales deed, to make sure that no party gets cheated.

In case the client of the property lawyer dies, the lawyer must make sure that any property transfer that is to be done for the benefit of the client’s relatives is completely legal. This is where the lines between property and trust lawyers get slightly blurred. Property lawyers are sometimes also appointed by the state in case the state has to seize property from any defaulter or court offender.
